Why Parents Shouldn't Get The Remote

Scene set

Dramatic pause as the dark villain with the bloody knife stalks the young girl as she scrambles to open the door of her house to escape almost certain death.

She flings it open and slams it behind her as she sobs and runs up the stairs.

The dark villain reaches for the doorknob with his free hand and just as he is about to open it... my dad pauses the show to exclaim, "Look at the crown molding around that door, the white lines would look good on the new front door wouldn't they?"

All I can do is fall over as yet another suspenseful scene is ruined by my parents who are now discussing architecture and the bad guy waits patiently for the time when he is able to open the door and finish his horrifying mission.

I mean come on! Seriously!?! Parents just cannot be trusted with the remote.

And off-topic, a hint for my next post (I was going to do it this one but I lost an essential piece needed and must find it) I reveal the true and hidden purpose behind this blog.

Stay tuned!

Seattle Life

I just need to say how much I love waking up to rain, to me it is more beautiful then anything in the world. When I was little I used to walk in it barefoot without a jacket even though it was freezing.
I woke up and looked out the window this morning and all I saw was a wall of fog and rain, so I sat there on my bed for the next two hours just watching it.
This is why every place I have dreamed about living in has been in the wet Europe area where rain is a daily occurrence and everything is green, it is truly beautiful.

Sarcasm Muscles

At a request from a friend, I am to try to use more sarcasm. Anyone who knows me, even if it is only a little, knows that I lace almost every word with sarcasm in a conversation. The only problem with typing is that it is annoyingly difficult to convey tone. So I hope you will bear with me for however long it takes me to get with the program and learn to write so that people can hear my words as I am saying them as I type them.

But back to whatever it is that I am going to say today. It's hard to be sure in advance as I am totally playing this by ear. But let's just see what happens.

Today in school I ran into my old eight grade math teacher for the second time in as many days. Mrs. Hayes (I hope it is alright to name her, no worries though for if it is not then the name will just disappear some day) and I didn't really see eye to eye back when she was my teacher, I had always been under the assumption that she didn't really care for me all that much, this was proven when she reported me to the principal for harassment.
It's not like I punched anyone or anything, my friend and I had a friendly camaraderie that involved playfully calling each other names, but to Mrs. Hayes it was harassment, so I ended up in the Principal's office. As it took me all of 2 minutes to explain my side of the story I was out of there pretty fast, but I never look at Mrs. Hayes again without wondering if she was pondering on how to get rid of me for sure.
And now she teaches at my high school, and I keep seeing her! God must really freaking hate me or my karma just really sucks. If anyone is reading this know that I am doing my best to avoid her, hopefully it will all work out.
On the bright side, today went amazing well, i had fun in my computer class, and I finished my lab in Biology with my partner in record time. I felt so horrible doing the lab though, it was experimenting with earthworms and how much saline (salt water) affects them. The problem is that it actually like physically hurts them and so they were having these seizures as we exposed them to different saline solutions and it really took the fun out of everything and I felt slightly satanic. Although according to my little sister I already am, she is just loads of help.
And as usual my French class was so amazing I never wanted to leave, and then my English class came and I got the same feeling, but sadly school had to end at some point, so my friend Aaron and I took the bus over to my house and hung out for awhile. It would have been all good had my dad not insisted on calling me his girlfriend and vice versa after he left.
The happy glow though for the day was ruined when my little sister got away with more of her annoying hijinks that my parents hate as much as I do and yet don't punish her for. But life does go on and so I say my goodbyes for the night as I go to Facebook and try to get more people to come read this.
Does that sound kind of pathetic?
And does this sound kind of like I'm just bitching to you? If it does please understand that that isn't what I'm going for.
Rock on, and goodnight.

Alarm Clocks Mixed with Sisters

Okay then 22 minutes down, and already a comment; although since it is from my mother it really doesn't count for much in my soon-to-be-massive popularity as everyone discovers this and I become a national icon through my amazing ability to write, but it it is a start.
Now to start off my path to stardom, let's start with... how about alarm clocks.
We depend on them, we trust them with our lives, certainty of keeping our jobs, not being late for school, and of course catching the bus. And yet somehow they fail us, how could this be?
The number one reason of course would be the batteries die, or the clock becomes unplugged.
Take Home Alone 2 for example when the dad unplugs his alarm clock and then plugs it back in, but he fails to realize that it has reset and he needs to enter the time so that it may function correctly. When he does not it never goes off and they nearly miss their plane. Don't fret they catch it in time, but the price is that they leave their underage son behind (again) and he gets on the wrong plane. Seriously I think social services should look into this family.
But I digress, now back to the point. There are always circumstances that cause alarm clocks to not work correctly, but the one that affected me was unique if I may say so.
About a month ago I was instructed to clean my room, as I was doing so my little sister, who I shall call Mary for her own protection hung out with me to chat as I worked. At some point in time she ended up playing in my bed and accidentally placed my alarm clock in an unknown location. When school started and I was in need of a way to get up on time, I turned to an online clock, it worked for the first few times, until this morning. As it turns out I neglected to see that after the first 11 uses, it was no longer free for me to use, so when 6:30 came around it did not go off, and so I slept on, unaware. At 7:30 this morning the same time my bus left my bus stop my dad woke me up asking why it was I was still asleep, needless to say he was a little irked by this. After finding out that school started out in half an hour, I told my sister to get ready, put my bedhead hair in pigtails, got dressed, and ended up doing my makeup in the car as my generous father drove me to school. In the process I left a homework assignment at home along with my book. Luckily I was able to reprint my essay, and check out another book from the library.
Moral of the story, life in unfair, don't let your 10 year-old (now 11) sister near your clock, and don't use the online ones unless you read the limits that go along with them (which by the way for the most part read like radio instructions).
Have fun!

Getting Started

So here it goes, my attempt at responsibility of a sort and flexing my writing muscles. I hope to capture your attention (and hopefully keep it) by talking about life in general, but trying to focus more on the important things, from Geometry teachers to little sisters. It's boggy territory but I think that maybe I can give some insight and maybe help in a way with others out there with the same problems.
I know that absolutely no one even knows about this blog and probably wouldn't even care about it if they were to find it, but i hope to change that given time. Maybe someday this will even amount to something.
